Commonwealth
Observance Day 2003
Nancy Wells (Chevening
Scholar) |
In
March 2003 the Chevening Scholar, Nancy Wells, took a break from studies
at Norwich to represent Vanuatu by carrying the national flag in the
commonwealth procession in Westminster Abbey. The picture shows
Nancy outside of the abbey immediately following the ceremony when the
young flag carryers traditionally line-up to be presented to the Queen and
other members of the royal family. It was a very cold day in 2003
and Nancy said that she had goose pimples as big as paw paws waiting in
the cold! |
