For the duration of the Vanuatu academic year 2001 (February - December) the British Friends of Vanuatu supported three scholars at Malapoa College in Port Vila:

Daison NARI aged 17 years is from the island of [?????????]. Daison studies at Malapoa College as a boarder in Class 11C.  Reports for the First and Second Semesters show satisfactory progress in all subjects.  In the academic year to date he has had no particular additional responsibilities or involvement in special activities.

John TABI aged 19 years is from the island of [????????].  John studies at Malapoa College as a  boarder in Class 11C.  Reports for the First and Second Semesters show a high level of achievement in all subjects, with grade As in Maths and Chemistry; B+ in Accounting and Physics and B in French and Geography.  John has represented Malapoa in the school Football Team and inter-school athletics, as well as participating in the Malapoa College Music Night.

Benjamin JESSIE is 16 years of age and is a boarder at Malapoa College.  Reports for the First Semester showed a very good level of achievement with a split of Grades A and B across the range of subjects (A for Maths and B for English).  A report for the second Semester is awaited.  During the first semester Benjamin represented Malapoa College in an inter schools cross-country race.
