Jennifer
Manua, the Principal of Lenakel Junior High School in Tanna visited the UK in January, 2001, and during a four week stay,
spent two weeks attached to British schools - Clifton
College and Gordano in Bristol. In the
course of her stay, Jennifer also spent one week on
a developmental programme organised by the English Speaking Union in Bristol, as
well as meeting GAP volunteers in the Bristol & London area who have
previously worked with Jennifer at her school on the island of Tanna. As well as the many formal events and activities
set up for the visit, Jennifer also enjoy the relaxed and informal hospitality
offered by members of the Bristol Branch of the ESU as well as visits
and meetings with friends and former teachers of the BFoV.
Jennifer returned to Vanuatu on 30th January, 2001. She took with her a
quantity of science equipment, including microscopes, Bunsen burners,
calculators and books donated by members of the ESU in Bristol.
